Belize is located in Central America, just below Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, and has the most renowned barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere.

This former British Colony is entirely English speaking and offers visitors a range of vacation options. The country's interior offers eco-friendly retreats, while the coastal areas offer beach and diving packages year round.

Generally, Belize is divided into six principal regions:

Belize City - largest city in the country.

The Southern Coast - plentiful beach areas.

The Cays and Coral Atolls - Protected by the barrier reef are hundreds of Cays and atolls - reminiscent of the South Pacific.

Northern Belize - Rural and agricultural, the gateway to Mexico.

The Cayo - Within the Maya Mountains and hills of Western Belize. Outdoor adventure such as hiking and kayaking are popular. Home of numerous Mayan sites.

Southern Belize  - relatively unspoiled with lush forests and vegetation. Home to several important Mayan sites.
